# What are widgets?

Widgets are the building blocks of your Sitee. Each widget displays a specific type of content, link, or integration on your public page.

Widgets can be used to add:

* External links
* Text and headings
* Images and visual content
* Social media content
* Music, video, and developer integrations
* Other interactive content

## The Profile Widget

Every Sitee includes a [**Profile Widget**](/account/your-profile-widget) containing your main profile information, like username and a display name. It can also include a short introduction on yourself, links to your social media, and Custom Buttons.

Unlike regular widgets, the Profile Widget is part of the core structure of your Sitee and cannot be deleted.

## Managing widgets

Depending on the widget, you can:

* Edit its content and appearance
* Duplicate it
* Hide it from your public Sitee
* Spotlight it
* Move it within or between columns
* Copy a direct link to it
* Delete it

Select a widget to open its settings, or right-click it to access the context menu. On <Icon icon="apple" /> Mac, you can also use **Command-click**.

Some widgets and customization options **may require Premium**. You can identify a Premium feature by its »Premium« designated badge.
