# Verified Accounts

Verification helps visitors identify authentic people, organizations, brands, public officials, and official YourSitee profiles.

A Verified badge means that YourSitee has reviewed the account and confirmed its authenticity based on the information available at the time of verification.

<Info>
  **Verification cannot be purchased and is never guaranteed.** Applications are reviewed individually based on authenticity, public relevance, risk of impersonation, and other available information.
</Info>

Verification is not an endorsement of everything an account publishes. Verified accounts must continue to follow the [Community Standards](https://yoursit.ee/standards) and [Terms of Service](https://yoursit.ee/terms).

## Types of verification

YourSitee currently uses three types of Verified badges:

* **Blue Verified** for notable individuals, official YourSitee profiles, and selected partners
* **Orange Verified** for companies, brands, and organizations
* **Gray Verified** for current political officeholders, political organizations, and government entities

## <Icon icon="https://cdn.yoursit.ee/ext/verified.svg" size={24} /> Blue Verified

Blue verification is primarily intended for authentic individuals with an established public presence.

This may include:

* Content Creators and influencers
* Artists and musicians
* Journalists and media personalities
* Founders and business leaders
* Athletes
* Other notable public figures
* Former political officeholders
* Official YourSitee profiles and selected partners

### What we consider

When reviewing an application, we may consider:

* Whether the profile is complete and actively used
* Whether the account uses the person’s real or publicly recognized name
* Public social media profiles
* Press coverage or other independent references
* Professional accomplishments
* Audience size and activity
* The likelihood or potential harm of impersonation
* Whether the supplied information can be independently verified

Follower count alone does not guarantee verification.

## <Icon icon="https://cdn.yoursit.ee/ext/verified-org.svg" size={24} /> Orange Verified

Orange verification is intended for authentic companies, brands, and organizations with an established presence.

This may include:

* Registered businesses
* Nonprofit organizations, NGOs
* Educational institutions
* Media organizations
* Cultural institutions
* Communities and professional organizations
* Recognized brands or projects

### What we consider

We may review:

* Official registration or organizational information
* An official website or matching domain
* Public activity and operational presence
* Official social media profiles
* Independent references or press coverage
* The applicant’s authority to represent the organization
* The risk of impersonation or public confusion

Some organizational applications may require additional identity or ownership verification.

A processing fee may apply in certain cases to cover administrative and verification costs. Any applicable fee will be communicated before the verification process continues.

## <Icon icon="https://cdn.yoursit.ee/ext/verified-gov.svg" size={24} /> Gray Verified

Gray verification is intended for authentic political and government-related accounts.

This may include:

* Current elected officials
* Members of parliament or congress
* Presidents and other heads of state or government
* Mayors and local government representatives
* Political parties and organizations
* Ministries, government offices, and public agencies

Former officeholders and political figures who are no longer serving in an active role may instead be considered for Blue verification.

### What we consider

Applicants should generally provide:

* Evidence of their current public role
* An official government, institutional, or political website
* An official email address where available
* A clear and verifiable connection to the represented institution
* Confirmation that the applicant is authorized to manage the account

An official government domain, such as `.gov` or for example`.gov.hu`, can help establish authenticity but may not be the only form of evidence accepted.

## Keeping your verification

YourSitee may temporarily hide or permanently remove a Verified badge when:

* The account can no longer be authenticated
* The profile becomes misleading
* The account changes ownership or purpose
* Verification was obtained using false information
* The account violates YourSitee policies
* The account no longer meets the relevant verification category

Verification is tied to a specific account and cannot be transferred to another user.

## Frequently asked questions

### Q: How long does verification take?

**A:** Many applications can be reviewed within a few business days. Applications requiring additional identity, organizational, or governmental checks may take longer.

### Q: Is verification guaranteed when I meet the listed criteria?

**A:** No. The criteria help our team assess applications, but verification remains discretionary and is based on the complete context of each request.

### Q: Can I reapply after being rejected?

**A:** Yes. You may reapply when you can provide new information or when your authenticity, public presence, relevance, or risk of impersonation has meaningfully changed.

Repeatedly submitting the same application without new information may not result in a different decision.

### Q: Can verification be purchased?

**A:** No. A Verified badge cannot be purchased.

An administrative processing fee may apply to certain organizational requests, but paying a fee does not guarantee approval.

### Q: Can I transfer my Verified badge?

**A:** No. Verification belongs to the specific account and identity that were reviewed.

Organizations managing several official accounts may contact [support@yoursitee.com](mailto:support@yoursitee.com) to discuss coordinated verification.

### Q: Will changing my username remove verification?

**A:** A significant username, identity, ownership, or profile change may trigger another review. The badge may be temporarily hidden until the account is revalidated.

### Q: Does verification mean YourSitee endorses the account?

**A:** No. Verification confirms authenticity, not endorsement, accuracy, or agreement with everything published by the account.

### Q: Can a Verified badge be removed?

**A:** Yes. YourSitee may remove verification when the account no longer meets the applicable requirements, becomes misleading, changes ownership, or violates platform policies.

For additional verification questions, contact [support@yoursitee.com](mailto:support@yoursitee.com).
