# Discord Moderators

Discord Moderators are trusted community volunteers who help keep the official YourSitee Discord server safe, welcoming, and organized.

This role applies **only to the Discord server**. Moderators do not become YourSitee employees, cannot moderate the YourSitee platform, and do not receive a profile badge.

  **Moderator applications are currently closed.** Recruitment opportunities will be announced on our Discord server when additional moderators are needed.

## How moderators are selected

New moderators may be selected through:

* A temporary public application shared in the [`#announcements`](https://discord.com/channels/886538767995895839/1050813374818173008) channel
* A private recommendation from a YourSitee team member or an existing moderator

Selected applicants may be required to complete an interview, training, and a trial period before receiving full moderation permissions.

## Minimum requirements

Applicants must generally:

* Be at least **18 years old**
* Have a Discord account at least **6 months old**
* Have been a member of the server for at least **30 days**
* Have sent at least **50 meaningful messages**
* Communicate effectively in English (B2)
* Be familiar with YourSitee and have a registered account
* Be patient, responsible, and open to feedback
* Be regularly available to help the community
* Have no active or recent penalties within the previous **120 days**

Meeting these requirements does not guarantee selection.

## Helpful experience

The following may strengthen an application:

* Previous community moderation experience
* Familiarity with Discord moderation tools and bots
* Strong conflict-resolution skills
* Detailed knowledge of YourSitee
* Participation in other YourSitee community programs

## Requirements after selection

Moderators must:

* Enable two-factor authentication on their Discord account
* Follow the Discord server rules, Moderator Code, Discord Terms, and applicable YourSitee policies
* Protect confidential information they receive through the role
* Use their permissions only for legitimate moderation purposes
* Remain calm, fair, and professional when handling community issues

Certain moderators may be required to sign a **non-disclosure agreement** (NDA) before accessing confidential information, internal discussions, or unreleased materials.

  **Moderator permissions are personal and non-transferable.** Moderators cannot give their role, account access, or permissions to another person.
